Adverse Rain Conditions

By Rochester & Strood Conservatives on

Following torrential rain, residents of Jarrett Avenue contacted Cllr. John Williams, stating that the drains in Rolvenden Road had waste water coming up out of them. This in turn caused torrents of water to go down into Jarrett Avenue and into their driveways (being the lowest point in the road) and that flooded water was washing down through their garages.
Cllr. Williams contacted the Council, whose response was immediate, meeting with both Cllr. Williams and residents. Since the initial complaint, 3 of the 4 soakaways have been checked, with the 4th requiring a new cover before it can be inspected. Additionally, other work in relation to the gullies has been scheduled to take place when the utility company laying new gas pipes has finished.
Once again, the prompt action of a local councillor and the Council will help ensure that this problem does not re-occur.
