Cllr Chris Buckwell
Chris joined the Party in 1972 and was first elected to the former Rochester-upon-Medway Council in 1983, representing the former St Margaret’s and Borstal ward. He served until 1991, following re-election in 1987. Chris stood down in 1991 but in the following year was re-elected at a by-election in Frindsbury Extra ward, serving until 1995.
Chris was later elected to Medway Council in 2000 for the former All Saints ward and was elected for the new Peninsula ward in 2003, serving until 2007. He has been a parish councillor continuously since 1991, serving on four different parishes within that period.
Within the Rochester and Strood Constituency Conservative Association, Chris is Organising Secretary. He is actively involved in planning Association events and he works closely with Jim Jones on membership matters.
