Cllr Stuart Tranter
Stuart has lived in Medway all his life. He was born in Chatham, his teenage years were spent in Rainham, and then he married Sarah and moved to Rochester in 1975 where they brought up their 4 children.
His early career was in BT, but since the early 90s he has been running his own businesses and provides consulting services in marketing, business development and strategy.
Now semi-retired, he is a keen cyclist and passionate about Medway and its rich heritage. He believes it has enormous economic potential due its location, rail links and excellent further and higher education facilities.
Stuart is currently the Mayor of Medway (2016-2017), so he doesn’t currently sit on any committees.
Kelly Tolhurst MP
I grew up around my dad’s boat-building business on Manor Lane in Borstal, went to the old Chapter High School, and now run my own small business in Borstal.
I first got involved in local politics after campaigning with residents to stop Borstal Recreation Ground from being lost to development, and since 2011 I’ve represented Rochester West as a member of Medway Council.
I’m proud of my hometown and since being elected to Parliament, I have been a part of the Government’s team – not a lone voice who is unable to achieve anything. And I’m absolutely determined to continue using that influence within government to fight for action for Rochester and Strood, and to stand up for you and your families’ interests.
