Chatham is Changing

Artists Impression of the new Chatham Waterfront

Chatham has a proud history, but like most towns it is having to adapt to very different retail trading in modern times. We need more housing, but less physical retail space these days, so change is inevitable. Being close to the river, shops, leisure, rail and bus services make Chatham a great place to live. More residents will help our local retail to thrive.

Construction is moving at pace, with several development projects along the High Street, Chatham Waterfront, Whiffen’s Avenue and more. We will continue to invest in this area as a place to live, shop and relax. We will continue to fight to protect our balanced communities, ensuring we have good places to live and high value employment. We want to increase employment and support thriving businesses. However, your views matter most; what are your priorities?
