Gareth BATTS

I’m Gareth and I have lived in Strood North my entire life. I went to school locally at Gordon Infants and Juniors and then Temple School. My day job is that I am a Further Education lecturer and have worked in education for over ten years.

Akin EDUN

My name is Akin Edun and I’ve been a resident of Strood since 2005, where I’ve participated in various activities including being a local primary school governor since 2014. Where I have participated in Medway council overview and scrutiny committees.

Craig LIDDELL

Hi I’m Craig and I’ve lived in Strood North & Frindsbury all my life. I’m a proud alumni of Strood Academy and Gordon Junior School and I have been involved in multiple projects throughout Medway for our young people.

1. Maintain the lowest council tax in Kent
   During this time of hardship for many of our fellow residents. It’s even more crucial that we protect our decades-long track record in providing the lowest council tax in Kent.
2. Retain our weekly bin collections
   On the doorstep, we repeatedly hear how vital our weekly bin collections are to our fellow residents. That’s why we will continue our proud record of providing weekly bin collections and free bulky waste collection.
3. Bring Back Strood Market
   Having been born and raised in Strood North and Frindsbury. I remember going to Strood Market throughout my childhood, seeing the fantastic vendors and small businesses. We are committed to bringing back Strood Market and other community events to Residents.
4. Investing in Strood High Street
   We are proud of the investments seen in Strood High Street, although we can go further! We would want to try different schemes to continue our progress in increasing footfall, such as a parking charge return scheme.
5. Protect our Parks and Greenspaces
   We are lucky to have such fantastic parks and Greenspaces throughout Strood North & Frindsbury. We want to support our ‘Friends of” groups and others in maximising the potential of our parks, along with our ambition to plant more tree’s around the ward.
6. Regenerating Strood North & Frindsbury
   Lastly, we want to regenerate Strood North & Frindsbury and make it fit for the future. That’s why we want to be ambitious for Strood Waterfront, which will provide opportunities for local Businesses, Jobs for residents and help our younger residents get on the housing ladder.
