Press Statement: Rejecting housing targets which exceed the local need

By Rochester & Strood Conservatives on

Rochester and Strood Constituency Conservative candidates reject any housing targets which exceed the genuine locally determined needs for the constituency, or which are out of character with the surrounding area or lacking adequate infrastructure. We are putting Medway communities first.”

Rochester and Strood Conservative Councillor Candidates

Notes for editor: Conservative councillor candidates in this constituency standing for election this May recognise the need for new energy efficient housing, especially for our young people, and to support genuine local needs. But ‘levelling up’ means economic growth and opportunities for the entire country and not just the Southeast. That may take longer for developers than just grabbing all the ‘quick wins’ on our green areas but we are determined to put the long-term interests of Medway people first. We want to see balance across the entire UK. Working with our MP Kelly Tolhurst, only we can ensure this objective is achieved; Independent members or opposition parties will have little influence.
