St Luke’s Pre-School who meet at St Luke’s Methodist Church, City Way held their fiftieth anniversary celebrations on Saturday with a fun day and graduation service.
St Luke’s were one of the first accredited pre-schools in the country and part of the initial pilot scheme that was rolled out. Many local families have seen more than one generation go through the pre-school which has constantly been rated good by Ofsted.

Ward councillor Sylvia Griffin met up with some former parents and pupils from her son’s time there over 40 years ago at the celebration event. The Deputy Mayor of Medway, Cllr Gloria Opara was also a guest at the celebration event and we took the opportunity to show her the new community facilities that have been created in St Luke’s church building that we have previously shared on.
