Your Councillors

Cllr Jane ChittyCllr Jane Chitty

Having weathered a recession, we’ve been through turbulent times, and the positive response from the community is a testament to the spirit of Strood. Where there were once empty buildings we now enjoy investment and thriving businesses, creating jobs and vibrant community.

There is still work to do and accessing substantial funding for infrastructure and improvements in the coming year will allow us to focus on the things that affect our daily lives.

My family and I have lived in Strood for 35years and I’ve been a Councillor for Strood North since 2007.

On Medway Council I’m responsible for; economic development, the local plan, our local markets, planning policy, regulation – Environmental Health, Trading Standards, Enforcement and Licensing (executive functions only), social regeneration and the South Thames Gateway Building Control Partnership.

Cllr Phil HallCllr Phil Hall

In what little spare time Phil has he enjoys playing badminton at Strood Leisure Centre – and occasionally squash too. Phil is also a frequent user of the Strood Community hub in Strood Town Centre.

On Medway Council, Phil is a member of the Business Support Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the Health and Adult Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
